Lip Exfoliator.

Hey,

I am really sorry about the lack of posts lately. Over two weeks is bad I know but me and Tamara’s holidays overlapped. Anyway she is in crete but will be back next week. And I have returned from France with an actual tan :D.

A month or so ago Tamara and I had a bit of a Lush Splurge and one of the products we both bought was their Flavoured lip exfoliator for £4.50 each.

Lip Exfoliator’s are not used all too much but I think they are a necessity and really should be used before putting anything on your lips. They completly get rid of ay dryness and obvious ridges as well as mositursing your lips.

Now thats only a start my favourite part about these lip scrubs are the flavours BUBBLEGUM, MINT and CHOCOLATE. Every flavour taste amazing and it’s 100% edible. They all contain castor sugar and organic jojoba oil and a few natural colours and flavourings. Each pot contains 25g so a good amount and is of course being lush hand made. My lips have never been in better condition and lipstick looks a lot better on.

If you would like it even cheaper you can make a similar version yourself. All you need is a teaspoon of sugar two tablespoons of honey and a little dollop of vaseline. Mix it together and you have a homemade version. 😀 (Watch Michelle Phan YouTube makeup guru do it here-http://www.youtube.com/user/michellephan?blend=1&ob=4#p/u/13/eajIxcf0ZZA

Personally I prefer the Lush version, it’s not sticky and more edible 🙂

I really can’t see any faults here it’s perfect for yourself or as a gift. I gave a few to some friends as gifts and their all hooked to! So next time you go shopping pick one (or a few) of these up at the till and i’m sure you won’t regret it.

Random Tip.

Hey there,

This is a really, really short post but i thought it needed to be said! OK, so now it’s officially summer and soon people are going to be swimming and going on holiday. Yesss! But there are a couple downfalls of summer and one of those is hair.

Hair in summer can go very dry and lose some of it’s natural shine and colour, often people forget about this but all you need to do to make sure your hair stays in great condition is:

1. ALWAYS use heat protection spray before you go out (I like tresseme)

2. If it’s suitable, tie your hair up (or wear hat)

3. Deep condition for as long as possible each night/or every other night.

If you do this your hair will stay in great condition all of summer so if your going out some where nice you don’t need to be conscious about your hair not looking 100%. I hope you found this post helpful 😀

Tired Looking Eyes?? Not Any More…

Hey there,

On weekdays, when my alarm determines my waking hour, my eyes feel cakey, tired and generally gross. The first thing i do is apply Soap & Glory’s ‘Supereyes, Supereyes’ (click here to view the post).

Then, when i’m dressed and my hair looks acceptable, i start on my makeup. What i’ve newly added to my routine is Trish McEvoy’s eye primer/base in ‘Sand’ which is a matte light pink shade (it comes in 6 shades) which comes in a little lip gloss type tube, and has a wand applicator. So, i dab two spots on each lid and blend it in with my fingers, and i pull it right up to my brow bone, almost on my eyebrow. This really brings a natural-looking lightness to the eyes, especially if you have a dark eye area. This is strickly non-creasing, and most eyeshadows applied on top look good quality – it brings out the colours pretty well. They are $24, so i’m guessing around £16-£17 plus shipping – you can look at them here.

I then apply a RMS ‘lip2cheek’ tint in ‘Muse’, which is a sheer light pink – this colour looks really great on eyelids, as it gives them a healthy, dewy appearance. These are $36, and can be found here.

Then, i apply a lengthening mascara – i use No7’s ‘Dream Lash’, which is non-clumpy, and looks really natural on its own. They are available here, for £12.

Smashed bronzer to tinted moisturiser!

Hey there,

Firstly, I am crazily sorry about not having any new posts in weeks! Me and Tamara went on a french skiing retreat which was great although we were (eek) without the wonders of the world wide web…But now were back and ready to update you on all your makeup needs!

Anyway, recently I heard about a pretty useful tip which is especially useful now it is getting hotter and the need for bronzed skin is coming back (I’m not quite sure if this is a jump for joy thing or an ughh) still this could become pretty handy!

So, if you have a broken/smashed bronzer that you can’t really use anymore (or just one that you don’t use because it’s too dark or you don’t like etc…) empty the bronzer into a plastic sandwhich bag (you may have to smash it up slightly more before to get it into the bag.) Then with a rolling pin (or if your feeling angry your fist would be just as good!!!) pound it until it is completely powder.

Next get a very small pot of moisturiser,  any one will do (click here to see our favourite moisurizers)

Then, just pour the powdered bronzer into the moisturiser and voila! Tinted moisturiser and it wont go streaky! This honestly works pretty damn well so give a go!

Eyelash Curling Tip.

Hey there,

Okay, so after Tamara became obsessed with the Shu Uemura eyelash curler, I decided to go out and buy one myself (click on the space nk link  in the box on the left->).

I thought that i should do a review of the curlers too – a second opinion can’t hurt…

Oh my lord – it is hard to describe the true amazingness of these eyelash curlers. My eyelashes practically reach my eyebrows and thats without mascara. Today i had 7 compliments about the length of my eyelashes and all i had on them was 1 layer of collection 2000 mascara. The curl also holds for hours – I curled my lashes at 7am and was still getting compliments at 5pm.

I really do swear that these curlers are miracle workers, but with any eyelash curler people ALWAYS end up with an obvious line where the curling happened and this extremelly annoyed me so I made it my task to find away of not getting this crimp mark.

Now I know that it’s less obvious you’ve used a curler (and you get longer lashes) the closer to your eyelid but your lashes to change shape so the line will be obvious somewhere.

When you curl your eyelashes instead of just holding them still, (shu umera ones need 5ish) you should open and close the curlers repeatedly for about double the time. Okay, so it may take just a few seconds longer but the results really are visible. Your lashes will look more natural yet still sky-high at the same time.  This technique is used by the best makeup artists too, and is one of my favourite tips.

Here’s a link where you can buy them online at Space.NK : Shu Uemura Curlers

How To Get Glittery Nail Polish Off.

Hey there,

I recently bought ‘Absolutely Alice’ by O.P.I, which is a sparkly blue nail polish.

I was really struggling to get it off, when my mum gave me a great tip: put another nail polish on top of the one you can’t get off, and it should come straight off! So, I tried it, and it really worked! There’s no trace of it on my nails, and it was much easier than scrubbing it off with nail polish remover.

Think Your Lipgloss Is Finished? Think Again.

Hey there,

One of the MAJOR problems i have with lip-glosses, is that a lot of product gets stuck at the bottom of the tube. This especially happens to (i’m sorry to say) L’oreal’s Glam Shine lip-glosses, but most lip-glosses in general i find have this problem.

The solution:

Put the liploss in a bowl so it’s leaning on its *side, and fill up the bowl with warm-hot water (too hot and it isn’t good for the product, too cold and it won’t work). Leave it for 10mins, and then take it out and leave it to cool (still on it’s side!).

When it has cooled, what should’ve happened is that all of the remaining product is stuck to the side of the tube, making it much easier to pick up the gloss with the applicator.

Have your say! Feel free to comment below…
